ASUS has announced ZenFone 3, reportedly the world's first metal smartphone with invisible antenna bands. The accomplishment is notable as even Apple's rumored iPhone 7 is said to feature a simplified but visible antenna band design. The company's flagship model is the ZenFone 3 Deluxe.

ZenFone 3 Deluxe is the flagship model of the ZenFone 3 family and the ultimate expression of ASUS smartphone design. It is constructed with a strong and light aluminum alloy unibody, and has a rear surface free of unsightly antenna lines and an ultra-thin 4.2mm edge.

Features:
ZenFone 3 Deluxe features a 5.7-inch Full HD (1920 by 1080) Super AMOLED display with a gamut of over 100% NTSC color space for rich, vibrant colors, even in harsh, outdoor lighting. An ultra-thin bezel gives ZenFone 3 Deluxe a 79% screen-to-body ratio for a maximized display in a compact package. Inside, ZenFone 3 Deluxe has a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Series processor, Adreno 530 GPU, and integrated X12 LTE modem, as well as up to 6GB RAM to deliver the best performance and fast connectivity for demanding apps, games, and media.

ZenFone 3 Deluxe boasts a 23MP camera featuring the latest Sony IMX318 image sensor, a large f/2.0 aperture lens, and 4-axis optical image stabilization for high-resolution, blur-free, and low-noise photos in almost any lighting condition. It also features 3-axis electronic image stabilization for steady 4K UHD videos. Coupled with an ASUS TriTech autofocus system that automatically selects 2nd generation laser, phase detection, or continuous autofocus to provide accurate and nearly instant 0.03-second focusing and subject tracking, as well as exclusive PixelMaster 3.0 technology, ZenFone 3 Deluxe can capture truly stunning photos and videos.

The fingerprint scanner on the ZenFone 3 Deluxe is positioned on the rear of the phone to sit underneath the user's finger and unlocks the phone in just a fraction of a second. Quick Charge 3.0 technology reduces battery recharge times and a reversible USB 3.0 Type-C port that makes connecting charging and accessory cables easy.

The ZenFone 3 Deluxe has powerful five-magnet speaker and a NXP smart amplifier that provides clear, defined sound and also protects the speakers from damage. When listening over certified headphones, users can enjoy Hi-Res Audio (HRA) that provides up four-times-better sound quality than CDs.

In addition to the flagship ZenFone 3 Deluxe, ASUS also unveiled the ZenFone 3, and ZenFone 3 Ultra.

This is a beautiful phone physically and it's very powerful. Too bad it's an android but wow. I'll stick to iPhone though.

Someone should create an accessory that allows the user to use this phone to jumpstart their cars. It's all the rage now for portable battery packs.

Wow 4G of Ram!! That's impressive. Apple NEVER talks about how many Rams the iPhone has cause theirs is weak. Samsung Galaxy has always run with more ram than iPhone. And you won't see any keynote nor mention of how many Rams at any WWDC event.

Well, not that 4GB of RAM is bad, BUT the Delux actually has 6GB (read the main text, not just bullet points). Together with that octa-core CPU and Andreno GPU, this is some serious horse power. Too bad it runs android.

Ya...the RAMs at WWDC should fit right in with the goats and chickens.

The problem here is the Security Touch location. Upper middle back on a large phone. It's great when you have a large hand and walking, now try that trick with a smaller hand and walking or even better, slide to open with the security touch. it doesn't work. Nextttt

This could well be one of two things depending on how Cupertino respond. It could be the death knell for Apple or it could be the kick up the rectum they have needed.

Seriously, what's the big deal about trying to hide the antenna bands? If you use a case, it will hide the whole back.

The offered colours are identical to the iPhone, that's a bit suspicious. Why don't other phone companies do something revolutionary rather than copy the iPhone and guessing what they'll do next.

I like it as long as I can customize it. If they lock it like iphone, no thanks. I will never have such a centralized cell phone. iphone 6 plus is my last phone from apple if jailbreak does not come in timely manner. I'm glad that 10% of people who does JB think the same way. Not much but it will hurt apple a little bit. Let they think about it for a moment but it will be too late for them anyway.

As much as I love my Apple devices it's time for Apple to pull some really cool tricks out of their sleeves because the world is not just catching up they are getting ahead. All this competition is great for us ( better technology, better prices ) but it's not so great for Apple lately. And I must say I never wanted an Android phone before but I do want this ASUS.

Apple is actually doing okay from where they are. At least they are still trying to pull off somethin interesting, but for the 7, it's been said that long waited features are coming which means it may be taken the next step. Think of it like Apple Pay being the next Google wallet. That's the case with some of the new features coming here, but that's if it's possible. I don't see where else apple isn't doing as good in even if they are trying their best.
