Apple will announce Q2 FY15 earnings on April 27, 2015. The company posted the earnings release date on its investor relations site.

Apple’s conference call to discuss second fiscal quarter results is scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. ET.

Do they mean quarter 1? Jan Feb March? Or is that not how the quarters work?

No business quarters don't align with the calendar year.

If you think about it, 1/4 is referring to .25% of the entire year so that 3 months= one quarter so due to where April is, q2 is April, May, June.

Ya April starts the second quarter of the normal calendar year but That's not how all businesses do it. Usually their first quarter starts before the holidays, most of the time in October. Which is where apples first quarter starts. First is October, November, and December. Second is January, February, and March. That's why they announce second quarter results in April.
