How to Pair the Apple Watch to Your iPhone [Video]

These are instructions on how to pair the Apple Watch with your iPhone. You will need to do this to utilize the Apple Watch as it requires an iPhone 5 or newer.



Step One
Update your iPhone to iOS 8.2 or later. You can do this from the Settings app (General > Software Update) or using iTunes.


Step Two
Press and hold the side button on the Apple Watch until you see the Apple logo.

Step Three
When prompted tap to select the language you'd like to use on your watch.

Step Four
Launch the Apple Watch app from your SpringBoard.

Step Five
Tap the Start Pairing button from the My Watch tab.

Step Six
You'll notice an animation appear on the screen of the nearby unpaired Apple Watch. Position your iPhone so that the Apple Watch appears in the camera viewfinder on the iPhone’s screen.

Step Seven
After a few moments, a message will appear telling you that "Your Apple Watch is Paired".

Step Eight
Tap the Set Up Apple Watch button on your iPhone.

Step Nine
Select Left or Right to choose which wrist you want to wear the Apple Watch on.

Step Ten
Tap Agree to agree to the Terms and Conditions, then tap Agree again when prompted to confirm.

Step Eleven
You'll now be asked to enter your Apple ID password. Input the password then press the Return key or the Next button at the top right.

Step Twelve
Apple will now present you with some information on the watch's use of Location Services and Siri. Press OK to continue.

Step Thirteen
When asked if you would like to send diagnostic information to Apple, tap Automatically Send or Don't Send.

Step Fourteen
You'll be asked to create as password for your Apple Watch if you want it to lock when taken off. Tap Create a Passcode if you want to create one now or Don't Add Passcode if you want to create one later.

Step Fifteen
Next you will be asked if you want to automatically install all the Apple Watch apps available based on the iPhone apps you have installed. You can tap Install All or Choose Later if you want to manually specify the apps that get installed on your device.

Step Sixteen
Finally, the Apple Watch will sync to your iPhone. This may take a while. If you choose to exit the app on your iPhone you will get an alert when it's done.

About five minutes later your Apple Watch should be done syncing with your iPhone and be ready for use!

Yes. For handoff, you do it with two different devices like pairing the watch to a phone. I see no problem with these things.
