Shake Tree To Receive Wisdom And Predictions

Power App GmbH has introduced WishesTree 1.0 for iOS, their app that offers fortune-telling, ancient wisdom, and timeless inspiration. A tradition in many cultures worldwide, this virtual wish tree is a giant, snow-covered Maple. When the iOS device is shaken one of the red-ribboned parchment scrolls, which are tied to the branches, floats to the ground, opens, and reveals its message. For millennia, cultures have recognized the special religious and spiritual power of particular trees, and customs have arisen around making wishes and offerings to them. Most recently, wish trees have become popularized at wedding ceremonies and other events. In 2010, Yoko Ono's Wish Tree became a part of the permanent sculpture garden at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

WishesTree features an idyllic winter scene of a giant, snow-covered Maple tree standing alone in a field with a small house behind it. Everything is shades of black and white, except for the brightly colored scarlet ribbons tied to the tree's many branches. Each holds small bells and a parchment scroll, and a graceful animation of the package floating downward, and the opening of the parchment fullscreen occurs each time the tree is shaken.


Some messages are divinations, "A thrilling time is in your immediate future." Some are nuggets of wisdom, "The man who has made up his mind to win will never say 'impossible.'" Still others are epigrams, "A woman who seeks to be the equal of men lacks ambition." There are hundreds of messages included in the app, each with a special meaning for the person who receives it.
