Leaked iPod Touch Photos Show Capacitive Home Button?

Leaked iPod Touch Photos Show Capacitive Home Button?

Although skeptical, CrunchGear has posted photos of an iPod touch that features a capacitive home button and 128GB of memory.

Marked with the "DVT-1" badge found on the earlier examples of the iPod Touch discovered in 2010 that sported front and back cameras, this model has 128GB of memory, is running firmware 4.2.1MC14 and is marked model MC550LL which points to a Mac Pro model as well as a permutation of the 4th Gen iPod Touch.

Its thought the perhaps the device could be a prototype or tester that made it into the wild.

Take a look at the photos below...

Very believable, with multi-touch gestures being tested in developers GM 4.3 it's only safe to say home button was and is going to be history, love it.

In that case they wouldn't have a button at all, even touch. I'm using the gestures on my iPad, which are great. I seriously don't even use the button any more. I'd say with those gestures, and the smart cover, they're heading towards buttonless devices. Those two things already remove the necessity of the home and power buttons. As for this though, I agree with the guy below who calls fake. If they want to replace the button with gestures, they'll do it all the way, and I could make that image in photoshop in 5 minutes. Just get rid of the lines defining the button, and you're done.

Fake..... Look at the bottom right of the front with screen off. screen is survy. and around the button is pixel smudged like it was tweeked in photoshop. And the text on the screen is unevenly blured. And the home button on the picture with the screen on is not in right place. I say FAKE.

I actually agree with you. Also, the device looks a little thick.
