Why You Shouldnt Buy the 3G iPhone

With the 3G iPhone just around the corner there is great debate on whether to purchase the new device...

TUAW has posted a very interesting article entitled, "Why you shouldn't buy the iPhone 3G on Friday"

Now it's time for the iPhone 3G to appear and by every stretch of the imagination, it's horribly priced--as is every other subsidized smart-phone out there. Unless you live in the Netherlands, the rate plans range from bad to unspeakable. If you're in Scandinavia or New Zealand, our hearts go out to you.

From a price perspective, the cheapest way to use the phone is to buy it outright, unlock it and use it with inexpensive calling plans.

It will cost you $793.19 to get 8gb 3G iphone, if you sign $60 plan with rogers or fido and cancel it after one month. I dont think 3G is worth this price.

I'm in Scandinavia, and thanks for being so thoughtful :) Norwegian customers protested against the plans that NetCom presented, and then they presented a new plan that was even worse. $ 80 for 100 minutes, 100 sms and 100 mb data, I don't think so. Scandinavian customers, buy the first generation iPhone from the bay and wait for the carriers to get their heads out of their asses.
