In addition to numerous investigations by privacy regulators, Apple is now being sued in federal court over its iPhone location logging practices, according to Bloomberg.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) was sued for alleged privacy invasion and computer fraud by two customers who claim the company is secretly recording and storing the location and movement of iPhone and iPad users, according to a federal complaint filed today in Tampa, Florida.

What's to sue over? There's no evidence that I'm aware of that the info ever makes it off the phone. I suspect it's something innocuous like a list of likely pylons so that the iPhone can be a bit more efficient connecting to a pylon that it's connected to before.

I bet the people that are suing Apple are just money hungry, so they saw the opportunity and took it. It's in Apple's best interest to hurry up and respond to people and tell them what's going on, what happens to that information, and why they are collecting it. Sometimes Apple has to realize that they need to explain themselves instead of just hiding in secrecy. I mean they should have seen this coming from the moment they implemented that tracking and had a strategy for explaining it, if they didn't, they need to re-evaluate some things internally.

Good luck suing over something you agreed to. It's called the Terms of Service. Nobody reads them but they are there nonetheless.
