Apple May Be Planning Two iPhone 5 Models

Apple may be planning to release two iPhone 5 models this fall, according to the iPhoneDownloadBlog.

The site has heard from an employee of an Apple parts supplier who believes Apple is planning to build a 'normal' and a 'pro' version of the iPhone 5.

Our source says that Apple is ordering components of similar function, but some of them are the very best of what you can get right now. While the rest of the ordered components are just the standard versions, Apple is also ordering better quality components of the same function. Our source says that both types of components wouldn't go in one device together, which makes him believe Apple is up to something with a 'pro' version.

Recently reports suggest that Apple could be working on a cheaper and perhaps smaller iPhone. In February Tim Cook fueled rumors by saying Apple is doing "clever things" to attack the prepaid market, because he wants Apple to be "for everyone," not "just for the rich." Cook also said he recognizes "price is big factor in the prepaid market," but Apple is not "ceding any market."

Yes... looks like an ipod touch indeed. FYI: Do you know that it's unofficial? it's just a rendering of an apple fan who's an artist. It's their interpretation of what the next gen iphone could look like or they wish could look like.

if this is true, the "Pro" model better be $199 for 16GB and $299 for 32. Hopefully the "basic" will just be cheaper and the price won't go up anymore.

Could just be iPhone vs iPod Touch. For instance, although both now have Retina displays, only the iPhone display is IPS (wide viewing angles).

Don't see that happening. You get what u pay for. You pay more for a great device. It's an iPhone not a cheap android.

Overseas prices are almost impossible. Let's hope they lower prices in the US.

Apple to be "for everyone," not "just for the rich." So how about they sell the iPhone 5 brand new for 200 without contract? There's an idea!

Don't think apple plan on just "giving" away their handsets... Save up. Or how about the US start doing contracts with $0 upfront on Cap plans.. $79 per month for instance.
