Apple will reportedly begin selling the iPhone 5 in stores on Friday, October 7th, according to 9to5Mac.

We've independently heard that Apple has plans to begin selling the next-generation iPhone on Friday, October 7th; the date first reported by TiPB. According to our sources, Apple has been weighing between launching the new iPhone on October 7th or October 14th, but with the product's latest stages of pre-mass-production currently moving along nicely, Apple is presently shooting towards a launch on the 7th. On top of this, unlike with the iPad 2, Apple plans to offer pre-orders for the new iPhone.

Pre-orders are said to begin at the end of September. Apple is reportedly debating Thursday, September 29th or Friday, September 30th with the 30th seeming a bit more likely.

This information would seem to support a September event despite reports to the contrary.

I am employed by Apple and I hold a high ranking position. I'm not some 19yr old sales person wearing a knit cap in the summer. I just want advise you iClarified readers to not get overly excited about the next iPhone. There is not going to be any groundbreaking redesigns or major improvements. Most of the rumors are false fabricated nonsense. Tgis year we are just getting an iPhone 4s.DEFINITELY no LTE capability.

Go home, shut up, and cry at your moms place... "Tgis year"? What rank are you? 13,37?

I hope they just wait till next summer. No reason to release a new iPhone every year. Just come out with a new one every 2 years. There's nothing wrong with the iPhone 4, it is still crushing the competition especially when ios 5 comes out.

I say come put with the shit every year. It's only a few hundred bucks, not a thousand

Sure the iPhone 4 is fine, but some of us are still using the 3GS. When I upgrade I want it to be something better than an iPhone 5
