This is How Siri Could Be Used to Control an Apple Television [Video]

Developer Hjalti Jakobsson has authored a Plex plugin for Siri Proxy that gives you a glimpse at how Apple's rumored television might work.

Ever since Steve Jobs told Walter Isaacson that he 'finally cracked' the solution to an easy to use, integrated television set, analysts have been predicting that Siri voice control is the answer to revolutionizing the TV.

Thanks to a new plugin written by Jakobsson for the Plex media server we can get an idea of how convenient a voice controlled television would be.

A really quick hack I did that uses SiriProxy to control Plex with Siri. Sorry for my English, it's not my native language =)

Take a look below!

What the heck?! This is a simple work that Apple could take care of that! The problem rises when the TV voice signals overlap with the voice signals of the one who controls Siri!! that is what we don't know about how steve jobs cracked it!! All the rest is not a big step toward!

TV will mute (or almost mute) itself when listening for your commands. You will probably still have to press a button to activate Siri, so I really doesn't see problem there.

I think it could be quite easy to somekind "noise cancel" what's comming out of the tv...

If I was Steve I won't call such a finding cracking. That is the most straight way of thinking to take care of this problem. And again consider that you are carrying a remote. The only difference here is that you have an iPhone in your hand instead of a remote!! Again you should carry something

@Sou: Noise canceling as a computational process is a very complex and hard dynamic. In fact most of the algorithms used today are rather primitive. Try to talk to Siri bot not alone, try it with someone else at the same time and see the outcome.(consider the fact that the second one talking could be anyone but not talking to the Siri, but Siri wouldn't understand such a fact)

With all Siri proxy plug-ins that are coming out, Apple should open their stupid control policy and open things to developers ....
