Enddiction, an innovative new mobile application developer, has announced the release of inCharge for the iPhone. The cure for constant iPhone-induced interruption, inCharge helps users free themselves from the burden of perpetually playing games, hanging out on social networks, and continuously checking emails. The app is super straight forward, offering a simple timed self-exclusion system to effectively wall off users from the many temptations of their phones. As an added bonus, this unique tool provides users graphs showing them how and when they use their phones, a function that can double as a monitoring utility for parents to check their kids' phone use. Normally $2.99, for the next three days inCharge will be available for download on the Apple App Store's Lifestyle and Productivity categories for $0.99 to celebrate its release. A free Lite version of the application, aptly named inCharge Lite, is available as well.

Idea behind inCharge is simple. In veritable anti-smartphone app, this innovative utility allows users to limit themselves from incessantly toying around with their iPhones, at least as much as they'll allow themselves to be. Once inside the app users simply choose how long they'd like to ignore their phone - anywhere from a few minutes to hours on end - and click start. When running, inCharge turns the iPhone's screen into a Safe-Zone with countdown clock, placing other apps out of view and giving users the push they need to put their phones away.

Since the app's emphasis is on improving users' own will power inCharge work on the honors system, leaving users free to bypass the app's Safe-Zone if they need to make a call or simply can't resist the urge to tweet, Facebook, or email any longer. Giving into mobile temptation won't go unnoticed by inCharge though. The app will regularly give users notifications to remind them that their lock-out period is still active and encouraging them to stick to their guns and give the phone a rest. Losing yourself or a friend to your iPhone? Kick the habit and re-enter the real world with inCharge! Love someone who cannot put his or her phone away? Apple's Gift-This-App option allows you to give inCharge to those you really care about.

Pricing and Availability:
inCharge 0.9 is $2.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Lifestyle category.

Not that I care enough to test out the lite version before commenting, but how is this different from the timer in the clock app? I understand the idea behind the app but from the two screen shots it's only a timer. Also, I like my games and virtual doodads and I will never stop. ever. not for one minute. and then I took an arrow to my knee.
