New Unlock Works for All iPhones, All Firmwares

New Unlock Works for All iPhones, All Firmwares

Posted April 22, 2012 at 9:44am by iClarified
A new unlock has been discovered that works for all iPhones and all firmware versions.

The method discovered by Loktar_Sun appears to exploit a logical bug in Apple's server and can be performed on any jailbroken iOS device. His procedure involves using Sam Bingner's SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module) package to perform a series of steps that unlocks your phone to use a specific SIM.

We've posted some detailed step by step unlock instructions which will help you.

It's thought that an update to SAM might make this process quicker and easier in the future. You can follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates...

Hey.. I have a iPhone 4 from UK locked to 3 network.. The phone is blacklisted in the UK, but I'm living in Denmark, and its working find here using Gevey unlock.. I have read that the SAM unlock dosnt work on blacklisted devices. So i would like to know, since the phone is working in Denmark, then i should be able to use SAM right, its only if the phone was in the UK it wouldn't work ??

Will this unlock work for people who have older generation iphones that are already JB and unlocked via ultrasn0w on an unofficial baseband like 6.15, and would like to upgrade past iOS 4.33? Is ultrasn0w now rendered obsolete with this new unlock?

hey do i need to use the original simcard to copy IMSI or just the new simcard i'm gonna use? i seem to be stuck on step 24 what does this mean? --> "Double click "Phone Number" parameter at the main device screen and make sure that the ICCID matches that of your SIM card." If not you need to start over from Step Fourteen."

Worked like a charm. Had to remove Gevery transposer. No need for ATT sim. Worked with Airtel SIM. Just had to follow the steps. I also took backup of /var/root/Library/Lockdown folder to keep my unlock in a safe place.

does this method still unlock the phone after a restart?

Yes, it will keep working as long as you don't perform a Restore/Update.

Yes, it still works after a reboot or even pulling the SIM and inserting it again. My question is, is this just some weird lucky happenstance that the guy figured this out? What is the purpose of the SAM utility if this isn't what it is used for in the first place?

If you are able and intend to do this, do so quickly. According to Musclenerd and others tweeting about this, it appears to be enabled by a relatively new Apple server bug that's likely to be closed quickly. Already-unlocked SIMs should continue to work (save your tickets just in case), but you may soon lose the ability to apply this method to new SIMs

To confirm via this method, I have unlocked an IPhone 4 locked to Rogers - Canada on iOS 5.0.1 firmware 04.11.08. I am now using it with O2 - UK.
