I think some of you may have missed the part where no one said this was an Apple design. It is a concept created by a lab that has absolutely nothing to do with Apple. So comments like "It's fake" or "Apple is being stupid designing something like this" are pretty useless. PD to the designer: Terrible design, bigger phones make no sense, what happend to portability in cellphones? Why would I want a device that hardly fits in my pocket?

Nice solid concept, but IMHO, 4.5" screen is too big for a phone..

The Verizon or sprint (CDMA) iPhone both have sim cards and are not embedded.

Apple may increase screen size but not by much Steve jobs said if screen size is increased apps would have to be redesigned completely Bigger screen size is stupid on many phones it's just too big you want something big buy a tablet

Why is the earphone plug in the middle and the apple logo all the way down there? Cool concept, but fake!

That concept makes no sense whatsoever, people don't seem to understand that an iPhone will never have a 4.5" screen and the reason it's simple, try using a galaxy S2 with one hand, not confortable at all. These are the details Apple pay attention to, and 3.5" is the perfect measure for a phone display size, more than that stops being a phone and starts being a small tablet.

With the current design and OS iphone will not have a bigger screen because it will be impossible to use with one hand. Android and Galaxy S 2 design with the menu, home and back buttons at the bottom of the screen make it very easy to operate with a thumb even if the screen was twice as big. Iphone does not have the menu and back buttons and instead you have to p ress virtual buttons usually in top left corner of the screen to get those functions which on a bigger screen will be impossible to do with your thumb. Apple will be stupid not to release iphone with bigger screen as that is one of the most important things. They can only do that with a complet redesign of the hardware and software. I switched to Galaxy s2 because of the bigger screen and with everything else being virtually identical i do not regret it. I will not go back to iphone unless they release something bigger.

I'm sorry but how is not releasing a bigger screen stupid? The concept of a cellphone has been lost with the newest smartphones, Apple at least has kept some of that concept.. PORTABILITY... Why would I want a bigger phone? Something that hardly fits into my pant pockets? The iPhone has just the perfect size, if you want something bigger, go buy a tablet, even if the iPad is too big for you, a Kindle Fire behaves quite nicely. If you like the Galaxy S2, I respect your preference but you do not like cellphones, you like tablets instead, may I suggest the Galaxy Tab for you? Which in my opinion is the most worthless device ever invented, it's not a cellphone, it's not a tablet, it's just a big brick that can answer calls in the most impractical way. Bigger phones make no sense at all.

Just use a little lower pixel density and make the screen larger. Then it's all in the screen, devs need not worry.

while this looks pretty I never understand why such concepts fail to take into account some degree of reality. Chance of there being an embedded SIM card = more or less zero due to industry regulation. The likelihood of the screen being 4.5" seems v v low as it both goes against apples logic of having a screen usable with one hand and would mess up all the screen ratios for developers. I think we shall see a larger screen but it will e within a comparable form factor to the current phone with merely a smaller bezel. Finally then its seems v improbable this will be the iphone 5 as it will be the 6th iphone, I would not be surprised if we see a follow on from the ipad and this is named the "new iphone" anyway, jst my thoughts
