These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPad 3 on the 5.1.1 firmware using RedSn0w for Mac. The Windows version of this tutorial is here.

Once on iOS 5.1.1 you should save your SHSH Blobs by following this tutorial.

If you want to jailbreak a lower firmware version you can find the appropriate tutorial here.

Step One
Create a folder on your desktop called Pwnage

Download the latest version of RedSn0w from here and place it in the Pwnage folder. Likewise, download the 5.1.1 firmware from here and place it in the Pwnage folder. (Note: you do not need to download the 5.1.1 firmware if you are already on iOS 5.1.1)

Extract the RedSn0w zip file by double clicking it.

This just isnt working. It doesnt work with earlier redsn0ws either. I've no idea how this kind of thing can be published on a site which is usually quite useful and reputable... when there is nobody who can jailbreak iPad3 with redsn0w. And just as an FYI, Absinthe does not even start in Mountain Lion, so thats going to need updating too, PDQ.
