Will Strafach, also known as Chronic, has revealed that the new iPod touch will be code N78AP and feature a 1136x640 display.
it's not even worth leaking to press friend's this close to launch, so: the new iPod5,1 is code name N78AP, and sports a 1136x640 display.
oh wait, another thing worth mentioning: the new iPod touch / N78AP runs on an S5L8942X, NOT an S5L8950X.
The S5L8942X is the same 32-nanometer A5 chip used for the revised iPad 2.
Apple is expected to unveil the new iPods alongside the new iPhone tomorrow.

I wonder whether they'll also release a new 'high definition' bottle opener when they release the rest of their barrage of new Apple products. I think I preferred Steve Job's approach, keep 'em guessing and then Wow them with a single great product. Now Apple is going into 'product diversity' releasing a dozen different products, hoping the public will spend money on any one of them, not bothering with trying to make any one product "Great".

If I'm not mistaken (and I very well could be since I can't recall previous resolution numbers), this is also a 'taller' display like in the new iPhone 5.
