Samsung Sets Up Fake Apple Store for New Anti-Apple Commercial [Photos]

Samsung Sets Up Fake Apple Store for New Anti-Apple Commercial [Photos]

Samsung is at it again and has set up a fake Apple Store in Los Angeles to film a new anti-Apple commercial, reports the Verge.

As you can see in the gallery below, the mock-up device in the window is a pretty poor representation of an Apple device, with unrealistic details throughout. The mock store was very detailed, right on down to fake informational materials detailing the product specs on the iPad. In fact, Samsung lifted Apple's original description of how Wi-Fi and 3G work on the iPad 2 for its signage. An iPad sign may point to a Galaxy Note 10.1 ad, but it's still possible (and perhaps likely) that the real target is the iPhone 5 -- we can't say for sure. What we can say is that we're sure there will be no love lost between the two companies when the ads hit the airwaves.

Check out some spy photos from the set below. You can also see some of Samsung's previous anti-Apple ads here.

There's nothing new apple made. There were MP3 players before the ipod, from Sony, Cowan, Archos, there were touchscreen phones before the iphone from BB, Nokia. There were tablets before the ipad from Toshiba, Fujitsu. There was an "app store" before apple's app store from BB and Nokia. What apple did was just make use of existing technology differently.

miskol - September 13, 2012 at 11:41pm
all the companies just use the existing technology. ALL. the way i see is that Apple implement their products in a very nice way, and many companies follow them. in terms of smartphones, Microsoft/Nokia is an example of not following Apple.

Apple is not always the best. I can tell that most people stick with dumb apple phones because they are stuck with the app store and not necessarily because they have the best phone out there. Let me ask you how many steps does it take you to connect your iphone to a bluetooth head set? 1. Slide to unlock the screen 2. Enter Passcode (almost everyone I know has the passcode enabled) 3. Settings (for some people it's not even on the first screen) 4. Scroll down to General 5. Select General 6. Select bluetooth 7. Select your device. And worst thing is that the iphone won't connect automatically to bluetooth devices and you have to do this every single time. On Android phones 1. From any screen, even unlocked screen swipe down for notifications 2. Turn bluetooth on. So which is the dumb phone?

Still gonna hurt android fanboys and Samsung that they can't sell shit once the iPhone 5 drops haha

someguy69 - September 13, 2012 at 5:51pm
You are totally correct. It will sell millions. That's where apple is heading to...profits rather than innovation. Just look at the iphone 5. They say they rebuilt it from the ground up. It's basically the same as the iphone 4 with better than iphone 4S components and a taller screen. You can't deny it but apple is starting to loose it's mojo. Like always they are playing catch up. There's really nothing innovative in the iphone 5. There's nothing innovative in iOS 6. People will just buy it because it's an iphone just the way people bought the motorola Razr because it was a Razr. By the way if you read expert blogs, people are dissapointed...eventhough they will get the phone.

1) i hate the iPhone 5. 2) all companies(pushed by their inventors who want money for their investment) is focusing for profit. 3) yes i do believe Apple is loosing their mojo, mostly because Steve Jobs (their visionary) is not there to point them directions. 4) Apple is not playing catch up. rather Apple's style is to always doing it right. if not because of Apple, we would be flooded with Blackberry's keyboard-look-alike products. another example is that current famous tech is NFC and wireless charging. both i think is stupid because these techs is rushed into commercial products. wireless charging that requires touching the wired-pad to charge? at least make it able to wireless-ly charge the phone with a significant distance(eg. 1-2m), then we have something useful there.

All. My Bluetooth devices for my iPhone connect automatically. Don't know what the hell you're talking about.
someguy69
someguy69 - September 14, 2012 at 12:51am
I never said they don't connect. I said they connect but once you turn bluetooth off on your iphone and turn it off, you have to go back to the settings and connect to the device. The iphone won't connect automatically like other phones. I have tried it with all my friends who have iphones. I use a stereo bluetooth and also in my car. Don't get me wrong, if you leave the bluetooth on constantly, they will automatically connect or pair.

Everybody copies everybody. There is very little that is actually new its just apple's implementation that is so good. Like apple made the notification centre a pull down bar is just like android. Voice dictation in writing text was done by android first then apple copied and added siri. Let these guys itterate new devices and to each thier own.

It's funny how Samsung and other companies have to stoop this low and come up with stupid commercials to mock apple just to bring attention to their company and products. Instead of just a simple commercial explaining their products like apple does.
someguy69
someguy69 - September 21, 2012 at 2:05pm
That's called ingenuity...there are a lot of commercials that do that, from car commercials to lotion commercials. Samsung is just adding some humor to it. There's nothing stupid about it. The fact that you know about the commercial means that it is successful!

Poor Samsung has no ideas of their own, and can only come up with new ideas by stealing them from Apple. I believe in competition, but only if they can invent theirwn products!

So what has apple invented?
someguy69
someguy69 - September 14, 2012 at 12:55am
I never said samsung invented anything. The whole point is that everyone thinks apple invented stuff just because they have it on their products, which is to the contrary. The right term is innovation.

miskol - September 14, 2012 at 1:16am
"An invention is a unique or novel device, method, composition or process. It may be an improvement upon a machine or product, or a new process for creating an object or a result. An invention that achieves a completely unique function or result may be a radical breakthrough." - wiki one of Apple's big invention (based on above description) is that they bought Fireworks' technology regarding capacitive touchscreen. Apple then integrated it into iPhone making it the first ever mobile device with such technology which enabled the multi-touch capabilities that is widely used in mobile devices nowadays. before Apple's invention, conventional resistive touchscreen cannot apply multi-touch. if you stand on unique/old invention term, there will be really small numbers of innovation since most technologies is an improvement of conventional technologies. then it's not a right place for you to hold that argument in an environment full of technologies. the right place is for example in a museum, where you can argue that Alexander Graham Bell invents the telephone, the Wright brothers invented the airplane, Thomas Edison invented the phonograph etc.
someguy69
someguy69 - September 19, 2012 at 8:17pm
The whole point am making is that there's nothing proprietary about apple stuff. Everyone one thinks that because it's on the iphone, apple invented it. But in reality that's not the case. Iphone 5(yawn) proves my case.

miskol - September 20, 2012 at 4:34pm
so you also meant to say that the multi-touch technology Apple/Fireworks's introduced which is now mostly used by all smartphones is also crap? the multi-touch gestures others adopted is stupid? the App Store phenomena that Apple started and now being followed by everyone else in the market is lame? the WebKit project Apple started, shared as open-source to all and now adopted by over 40% of the browsers in the market is useless? the UI that xerox see as a dead project but Apple took it(rightfully) and perfected it, now is a must thing in computers is also meaningless? the computer mouse(yeah you can say Apple didnt invent this) that remained relatively obscure until Apple make it famous is also insignificant? the ARM architecture that Apple worked together with Acorn which was so important that Acorn spun off the design team in 1990 into a new company that became ARM Ltd, which is now licensed by most smartphones which became the backbone of their products is a small feat? come on, stop being emotional and learn to acknowledge some facts. Apple have a lot of significant contributions, which makes what current smartphones is what it is now.

someguy69 - September 21, 2012 at 1:29am
You seem like you aren't getting my point...am not denying that apple is taking existing technology and making it more user friendly. By the way BB, Nokia and Sidekick had apps before iphone existed. They just didn't call them apps and they didn't call their "stores" app store. I used to have sidekick, all generations. And they had apps for mail, myspace, facebook etc. Also multitouch was there even before fireworks started working on their tech. My whole point is that everything apple is churning out is a "rework". Look at the iPhone 5...it's offering stuff that is at least 2yrs old...and they are talking about it like it's never been done before. Even iOS 6 doesn't have any thing proprietary. Maps with 3D...so 3yrs ago. Passbook...I have been using Starbucks app, United airlines and Fandago for more than a year...all apple is doing is bring them together in one place...yawn. Again am not bashing apple. Am just saying that everyone has this impression that every other product that's not apple is copying apple and that everything that in on the iphone is new tech. And you are right...without the iphone phones wouldn't have been the way they are today. But the problem now is that apple is becoming complacent. That's what sidekick, that's what sony did, that's what Ford did. By the way I have owned the iPhone 2g, 3g & 3gs. 4 and iPad 2.

just shows that your arguments is solely based on hatred towards Apple and not on their contributions toward technology. as you can even see what Samsung is doing, they openly mock Apple with ads, so immature and childish. if you want to get back on someone, that's not a professional way to do it. i would certainly hope Samsung to fight back by producing fairly competitive products, and drive the smartphone market with more innovations... certainly not full of childish-ads. Yes, i've seen Apple and Microsoft producing ads mocking each other, but it seems that they are over that stage, probably they realized its a waste of resources, hope that Samsung would realize that soon too.

someguy69 - September 21, 2012 at 8:23pm
I don't hate apple...I have owned the iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS and the iPad 2. Don't get me wrong...my whole point is that apple is starting to become complacent. I was a heavy iPhone user since the 2G and somewhat the 3G, but after that I have come to realize that there are better phones out there. The only thing that I can get from using the iPhone is the app store. But that is changing every day because developers are developing for other platfrorms too. Apple now is becoming like Microsoft...forcing crappy apps on users (mail app, maps app, music app, itunes, game center, find my friends)The iPhone 5 is touting technology that other phones have been having for at least 2 years. The worst thing is that they are acting like it's new tech. I know the add is childish but in marketing terms it's called ingenuity...all companies do it from truck commercials to lotion commercials. Like I said before am not saying that the GS3 is evolutionary, but compare it with the first GS and you will see a huge difference from software to hardware. The iPhone on the other hand has been kind of the same. http://assets.cio.com/documents/cache/images/slideshows/2011/10/iphone-evolution_1.jpg
