LIFX, is an amazing smart bulb that lets you set its color and brightness from anywhere using your iPhone.

LIFX is the smartest light bulb you've ever experienced. It's a wifi-enabled, energy efficient, multi-colored bulb that you control with your iPhone or Android. LIFX gives you unprecedented control of your lights, reduces your energy costs, lasts up to 25 years and delivers an amazing range of experiences we think you'll love.

Features:
● Install by just swapping your bulbs
● Control every light from your phone
● Any bulb, any color
● Sunrise, Sunset feature lets your rise or drift asleep with naturally increasing or dimming lights
● Automatic on and off
● Visualize your Music: mood lighting that matches the beat
● Existing switches still work

LIFX smart bulbs use LEDs which produce equivalent light to a 60w incandescent light bulb and are rated to 40,000 hour/up to 25 year standards. Three types of bulbs are available: Bayonet cap, Edison Screw, and Downlight.

The bulb uses a master/slave concept to connect to your home router via 802.11n and then onto all the other LIFX smartbulbs via IPV6 802.15.4 mesh network. Each LIFX can connect to all country electricity systems from 110V to 260V.

The LIFX smart bulbs are seeking funding on Kickstater. In just a couple days they have nearly quadrupled their goal of $100,000. To get one of the first bulbs you can pledge $69 for one bulb, $119 for two bulbs, or $196 for four bulbs.

I absolutely DESPISE reading an article about a new, awesome product and then see the word "Kickstarter" at the end. ADD THAT TO THE TITLE! If it's in Kickstarter, it might as well be a concept video because as of now, it cannot be purchased and has NO release date.

Their goal was to make $100,00 and they made $500,000 . So I'm pretty sure you would soon see it in stores

Great concept. Just need it to get into the "reasonably priced" market.

Really slick project. I will consider sponsoring. For retail, they can expect to need to get that price point down to about half of what they have it set to. Really. I doubt they can expect $69 each for them in retail. Although this eliminates some of the other automation stuff like X10, which is kinda cool.
