then will be again the question, what is happenning to the Apple shares? Apple is vertically comming down, no new ideas, the market came by themselves with better hardware. It will be harder to Apple to survive after 2015, until then they will still survive with cosmetic updates, but in a long term ... with the actual management and policy (money, money, money) they will not survive, they will go every sunday to the church and pray for Steve to come back "give me some light", "what should i do next"

for me the size matters, for me the iPhone 4s size was perfect and the iPad 2 is also the perfect size. what Apple pos Steve did, go behind the market trends, grow the iPhone to see movies 16:9 on it. who the hell needs a iPhone to see movies!!?? the battery would not last enough! the iPad 3 and 4, they are screen same size, but thicker than iPad 2 and also heavier. the screen resolution on iPad 2 is perfect for me, i will never chance it for a Tablet with better resolution, why i would do it??!! during Steve era, i bought always the new iPhone also the iPad. Now i dont see any reasons to do it. Steve, please send a light to the Apple board of stupid directors.

I could have produced the same chart by reading the basic spec sheets. There was no analysis of which displays showed better color, perspective or details. We already knew the iPad mini had a lower resolution, but I was hoping for more detail on whether it was a better designed display or not. This report has no analysis to it.

Charts are for STUPID LAZY people. Go read the original article for the complete analysis.

Screen Reflectance on the iPad mini is a surprisingly high 9.0 percent. On the Nexus 7 the Reflectance is a much lower 5.9 percent, while on the Kindle Fire HD it is 6.4 percent. As a result, the iPad mini reflects 53 percent more ambient light than the Nexus 7 and 41 percent more than the Kindle Fire HD. That’s quite a big difference…

Screen visibility and readability in high Ambient Light depends on both the Maximum Brightness and Screen Reflectance, which we evaluate with a Contrast Rating for High Ambient Light. On the Kindle Fire HD it is 58 percent higher than the iPad mini and 47 percent higher on the Nexus 7.

It is the display’s Color Gamut together with the Factory Display Calibration that play the most important role in determining the Wow factor and true picture quality and color accuracy of a display. The Color Gamut is the range of colors that a display can produce. If you want to see accurate colors in photos, videos, and all standard consumer content the display needs to closely match the Standard Color Gamut that was used to produce the content, which is called sRGB / Rec.709. Most of the previous generations of LCD Tablets and Smartphones had smaller Color Gamuts around 60 percent of the Standard Gamut, which produces somewhat subdued colors. But that’s been changing due to both technology and competition.

While the iPad 2 and iPhone 4 had reduced 61-64 percent Color Gamuts, the Amazon Kindle Fire HD and Google Nexus 7 both deliver a much larger 86 percent Color Gamut, and the new iPad 3 and iPhone 5 have full 100 percent standard Color Gamuts. So it was a surprise and a major disappointment for the iPad mini to arrive with an antiquated smaller 62 percent Color Gamut.

ALL types of media, whether it’s movies, music, books, photos or web pages, look better and sound better on the Kindle Fire HD than any iPad.

Well saw this arriving. Just wait, here is Apple's speech next year when the iPad mini 2 arrives: we now installed a new screen capable of 286ppi packed into the same form factor, oh and it will have great battery life on the new screen. Give it another year and we will play catch up to whatever the Nexus 7 and Kindle do.
