Apple has started shipping pre-orders for the 27-inch iMac. Delivery estimates are as early as December 13th, according to forum posts on MacRumors.

"Mine shipped. It shows in my support profile and I did not buy Applecare. Estimated delivery on the 13th.", reports SSWilson.

Unfortunately for those looking to purchase a new iMac, shipping has now been pushed back to January.

rush and buy it... then, please let us know about all of the problems that you would have encountered... as the poor chinese "slaves" might have been working under heavy Santa Claus pressure, who cares about quality controls and human rights as long as the gifts are under the x-mas tree!

No shenanigans. iClarified noted that all NEW 27" iMac pre-orders from the date that they reported the January ship date would ship next month. All initial pre-orders (since 11/30 up to aforementioned date) had a 3-4 weeks window for shipping, which, as it turns out, effectively changed to 1-2 weeks for some of those lucky bastards, as this new report shows. What a nicely configured one they're shipping to this customer. ;-) P.S.: Is there ANY indication as to when we might see an updated 27" Thunderbolt/Cinema display from Apple?
