Apple Found Guilty of Infringing 3 MobileMedia Patents With iPhone

A jury has found Apple guilty of infringing on three MobileMedia patents with its iPhone, according to a Bloomberg report.

After a week long trial in Wilmington, Delaware the jury took four hours to find Apple infringing.

“We’re very pleased,” MobileMedia Chief Executive Officer Larry Horn said in a courtroom interview after the trial. “We think it’s justified.”

One patent is for the camera phone and the others cover call handling and call rejection, said Horn.

U.S. District Judge Sue L. Robinson has not yet scheduled a trial on damages but Horn says they could be “substantial.”

It's not the same thing. Apple may have infringed on someones patent, but Samsung who makes the best Android phones was shown how to by Apple when they were making phones for their "partner". Ripped them off and started making identical phones but with plastic casing. Google did the same thing by sitting on Apple's board working as a partner helping with the software/maps side of things. I think you guys would be upset too.

It's interesting, but seeing as it'll be years while this single verdict is fought in court, it's a bit early to get excited about it.

What this taught us was that a great idea is always built upon from another great idea before it. Apple is nothing today without other technology. What makes Apple great is their ability to innovate products in a way that ppl can most appreciate. What makes Apple look like a scumbag is their attitude towards competitors.
