Monkey Kit is a positioning system for your iPad that uses a Vacuum Dock and a removable three foot tail that can be twisted to position your tablet nearly anywhere. The project is a followup to the Whale Kit which was released a year ago.

Most stands simply prop your tablet on a small ledge. For extreme use, Octa wanted to create a stand that literally affixed to your iPad. We started studying vacuum suction handles, which is the technology construction workers use to lift heavy plate glass high into the air. Then we developed our own patent-pending twist. Using innovative chambers and seals, we reduced the size of our Vacuum Dock to fit in your palm, while increasing the amount of air displaced by each pump of its button. We did all this work so that you could affix your Vacuum Dock to your tablet with five easy pumps. (The original system required as many as thirty!) Unlike a suction cup, the Vacuum Dock literally pumps the air out from between its sealing surface and your tablet, creating an increadibly strong and durable connection. The Monkey Kit will adhere to your tablet for days!

The project has already been funded on Kickstarter with 38 days left to go. An $80 pledge will get you one of the first units.

Probably one of the best ideas I've seen in a while. Would even like to use this rather than my Computer monitor's stand. Perhaps to answers Shaze's hypothetical scenario it might be a decent idea if they add a small power adapter(for the Ipod it could be just a small attach to the Ipod adapter for power rather than a plug into the outlet adapter though It could contain both) That would on a set interval add another pump to the sunction.

Allow me to pose a hypothetical scenario. I have this thing attached to my headboard, so that my iPad is directly over my head while in bed. They claim the suction will last "for days" in the video. At what point will the heavy tablet come crashing down on my unsuspecting noggin, and who do I sue afterwards?
