Adobe CEO Refuses to Provide Justification for Australian Pricing [Video]

Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen refuses to answer a question about why his company is price gouging Australian customers.

In a press conference in Sydney today, Adobe chief executive Shantanu Narayen refused to answer questions about how the company can justify charging Australians up to $1,400 more for its traditional software than US residents, instead pushing his view that Adobe's Creative Cloud software, which is broadly harmonised with US pricing, is the future for customers.

Recently, Adobe, Microsoft, and Apple were summoned to appear before a hearing to justify their charging higher prices to Australian consumers.

After watching that vid, in summary that spokesman is simply saying that their most profitable way (for both customer and Adobe) to deliver a solution is over cloud solutions.

That's crazy! It makes no sense why they charge so much their, compared to everywhere else. Unless there's high import taxes, high charges for shipping and stuff with customs they have to pay first. If that's the case then they have to raise the priced because all the extra charges they have to pay beforehand. Which takes away from their profit margins. If that's true then, from a business standpoint it's understandable. As a customer I sure as hell would rather book a flight to the US, fly their, buy the product, Spend the day their and fly back, if it would be cheaper. Instead of getting in the car and driving to the local store a buying it.
