Leaked Photos Show Rear Shell for Next Generation iPad Mini?

Posted February 21, 2013 at 6:30pm by iClarified
Photos have leaked online allegedly depicted the rear shell of the next generation iPad mini.

The images show what appear to be a slightly thicker shell perhaps suggesting that Apple will make the device slightly thicker to accommodate a Retina Display.

Also of note, the Apple logo is blue. It's unclear if this is part of the manufacturing process or whether Apple is planning to produce the iPad mini in an assortment of colors similar to the iPod touch.

Take a look at the photos below...

Lets not speculate on whether this will be the next mini or not as we have seen in the past this has not come to fruition. I hope they focus on the IOS and implement some cool tweaks from the jailbreak community and give us some different looks to the regular grid that is out there. I am excited to see what Johnny Ives brings to the software table in terms of design.

I don't think apple will loose its prestige until an original product is released and right out exceeds the iPhone in quality of software and hardware appearance. IPad also up to now has no competition. I will agree with the statement though that releasing new products more than once a year seems a bit desperate and pedestrian. I do like that they gave us more choice in size and color. Thumbs up on that. Maybe a slightly larger phone also. A bit wider this time as well instead of just longer.

This does not seem like the next gen iPad mini. It can't be. Because the current iPad mini is way slimmer than this & therefore the next gen iPad mini can't be thicker. There's a good chance that this is one of the earlier prototypes.

Early Prototype with a Lightning Connector?

I second you on that Rick. And Shady, it could be the next gen iPad mini for many reasons. The next gen mini may well support a Retina display, therefore, the mini must have a better CPU and more RAM, which will bring us to a newer larger battery to cope with the juice being sucked, heavily. A thicker iPad mini isn't a wise step over the current one, but the specs would be woth it for the customers. My opinion and thoughts, i could be wrong :)

Tim, you'll cause Apple's downfall.

@MrTheGuy02 I agree completely to you. Tim is causing the problem why Apple Stock is loosing it's market Appeal because people knows sooner or later Apple Brand will loose it's prestige as the most sought after brand because they are now following what other before apple is doing in releasing one after another model. This time it's twice a year maybe nect time around they will come out with not only one model but several models in one release to capture Market from A to Z. Tssk,... tssskk... Nokia and Ericcsson along with Motorolla did it before and where are they now? Tim Cock is just so GREED plain and simple. as they saying goes. "History repeat itself". How true and they never learn. hehehe

Apple usually marks their prototypes with colors. Example: Older MacBook Pro Prototypes used Red Logic Boards.
