I like this finally it actually has calling functionality so u can use it as a cell phone wonderful I will buy it but the resolution is a no sale no way I'm buying something that doesn't have retina screen I mean really I would think Google is doing this they put in there other stuff right? Well anyway all I want is a cheaper price than Apple iPad but with a retina screen, calling functionality, in something I can hold in one and that's it, is that so much to ask? well this looks like it but not quite yet well I'll check it out further... Okay to say it simpler I want an iPad 3 iPad 4 with calling functionality but in a size I can hold in one hand That's cheaper than an iPad.

You can't compare the Note 8 to an iPad.

You aren't making any sense. Are you comparing the Note 8 with an iPad mini or iPad? The last time I checked the iPad mini doesn't come with a retina display. For your information the iPad mini has a 7.9-inch (1,024 x 768 pixels) with 163ppi while the Note 8 has an 8-inch (1,280 x 800 pixels) with 189ppi.

Maybe, this is the time when apple decide to put the damn phone app in the iPad, or stop paying iPhoneislam for not releasing it...

I'm not a fan of either products. The only tablet I'd get is a Nexus 7.

the major big thing apple has against samsung is market value of supply, materials, and the iOS; although inferior to the androids customization ability, it has much more potential image and reliability

I would very much like to know exactly what customization your talking about, android OS is completely closed source in nearly every aspect. If your referring to rooting or widgets or even simple basic function this what i'm confused about. I can see your point if your referring to basic ios not being customizable, but thats a simple fix via jailbreaking which actually allows you full 100% access to every file in the device allowing you to customize every aspect of each function the device has or even adding function that it doesn't already have. Rooting which is most commonly referred to when talking about "customizing" with android OS doesn't allow any access to actual function change. The whole point of customizing is to make it work the way you want it to, all rooting allows is making it look different such as a theme or unlocking certain features like data sharing or carrier unlocks. Jailbreaking allows the same things accept you can add or create function that is useful in a way that fits you. modifying certain features and accessing them should be easy and organized whereas with android, everything is all over the place, simple files like music, games or pictures are harder to find and most functions that are advertised most people never use. IOS comes pre-installed with functions that are easy to use, not hard to figure out and if you want to modify a specific function, a simple jailbreak and search in cydia, which btw has an incredible dev base (unlike android), can give you the best user experience possible as everything is simple and organized in the way that you are most comfortable. Personally I go for actual functionality and features that I realistically would use, that is why I use an iPhone 5 w/64GB and an iPad mini 64GB instead of my 16GB Note II (that cannot handle SD cards since it randomly unmounts and erases data just like all 8 of my previous GS3's) and nexus 7 that just sits in my shit I don't use drawer. So please tell me what customization android really offers

If you look around nowadays it's old people and kids who are walking around with iDevices. They are the ones who don't have time to tinker around with their phone ie they want something "easy to use" How I yearn those days of the original iPhone and iPhone 2. And by the way why do you think there was millions of iDevices jailbroken? I bet you the number one reason is that these jailbreakers need something more than the stock iOS can offer them.

Actually Samsung have a strong history of giving its customers a massive choice of sizes and configurations in its product lineup. With or without the ipad mini, this would have arrived at some point. Looks like a very nice device. Doesn't look as good as the ipad mini though. I also don't see why you would buy this instead of the nexus 7 unless it was similarly priced- which it won't be.

They say rival but copy would be closer to the truth. I'm sure if they tried they could come up with something new but I guess why bother when you've got someone else to show you the way.

Well if it was a true copy it wouldn't be able to make phone calls or do any customization or have a stylus.

There was a 7inch tablet (Dell Streak, Nexus 7) before the iPad mini came out so your comment doesn't make sense.
