Samsung has just unveiled a new Samsung Wallet app that looks a lot like Apple's Passbook app.

Samsung Wallet is a mobile app that allows users to store and manage event tickets, boarding passes, membership cards and coupons all in one place. Just like Passbook, users can receive time or location based notifications when they're able to use their passes. Additionally, real-time updates on membership card points and changes to boarding passes are also support.

Developers can contact Samsung for access to the Samsung Wallet API beta. NFC is not supported as of yet.

Samsung has partnered with Walgreens, Belly, Major League Baseball Advanced Media, Expedia,,, and Lufthansa for launch.

Check out the video below and see if you can spot the similarities...

You people are nuts.... Don't all Word Processors look similar? Doesn't Thunderbird look like Outlook or IE9 a bit like Chrome. Of course Apps that are to perform some function are going to look basically the same as the logical flow of data is very much the same. Don't all cars follow the same basic design principles of 4 wheels and 3 or 5 doors?! This is why this "design" patent is so ridiculous. It should be the code that is patented, not the design of the product. There is no competative advantage gained by copying the design if a product doesn't work. Wasn't it funny when Apple tried its hardest to COPY GOOGLE MAPS and failed miserably!!!!!

Google Wallet is very different to Samsung's and Apple's offerings.

Google Wallet is another form of Paypal, not for managing tickets and coupons. so in the end: Samsung copied apple. Google copied Paypal.

Google wallet does have coupon, ever heard of Google Offer? That's integrated into the Google Wallet.

Samsung even copied the app design. They really can't come out with their own concept. Now they have their lawyer hired, so they think they can win every case.
