Apple Lists 21.5-Inch iMac With 3.3GHz i3 Processor for Educational Institutions

Apple has quietly introduced a 21.5-inch iMac for educational institutions that features a dual-core 3.3 GHz Intel i3 processor, notes MacRumors.
The education-only iMac, which carries a model number of ME699LL/A, also includes just 4GB of RAM and a 500 GB hard drive, while the low-end consumer model doubles both of those figures.
The educational iMac is $1099, $200 cheaper than the entry consumer model.

Apple are kinda ripping the institutions off aren't they? I mean for $200 less, you get half the memory and RAM !?

I agree with you but normally schools don't buy 1 they buy 20 (for a class room) that's 4k less
