Retina iPad Mini Predicted for Q3 or Q4 of This Year

DisplaySearch analyst Paul Semenza believes that Apple could release an iPad mini with a Retina Display in the third or fourth quarter of 2013, reports CNET.
"We're seeing potential in the third quarter of panel production for a higher-resolution iPad Mini," DisplaySearch analyst Paul Semenza told CNET today. "When would the Mini be available? Could be third quarter or fourth quarter," he said.
A Retina Display iPad Mini would have a 2048x1536 resolution display with a pixel density of 324 ppi. LG Display is a strong candidate to make the display but AUO, Japan Display, and even Sharp are possibilities, said Semenza.
Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster has also predicted a Retina Display later in the year.
The only constant option on every device is change. Get used to it. Pretty much every gadget these days has to be replaced every few years or sooner. You can't tell them how to run their bussiness. You dont like it, you don't buy it.
They should have made it retina right from the get-go. They always seem to put out stuff with less than state-of-the-art capabilities and then add them later so that folks have to buy a new device the next year to get what they should have had in the first place. It seems all these products are a year behind what they ought to be. I'm not a 'sour grapes' complainer here. I never bought the iPad Mini because I felt that Apple really dropped the ball on the Mini, and that it was overpriced for what you were getting. I ended up with a Nexus 7, which turned out to give a lot more bang for the buck for a small form tablet (I already have the full size iPad and was looking for something more easily held for reading).
I was interested in purchasing an iPad mini, but I simply had held off and I'm going to be buying the Retina version as soon as it comes out. Nobody forced me into buying this model. Just like with iPhone 5 – I'm going to be waiting for the 5S version, because nobody stopped me from avoiding purchasing the current model.
As for the supposed alternatives that are out on the market: after all this time of testing my needs into other platforms, I have concluded that nothing can replace at the moment Apple's supreme ecosystem. It simply integrates all my devices seamlessly, ranging from mobiles up to PC work stations, without any hassles, glitches and intervention of third-party solutions. And that's EXACTLY what I call a premium solution - I 'waste' the minimum amount of time to make things work and co-operate, and spend instead my precious time concentrating on my work and my family/friends!

One of the big pluses of the Nexus tablets is the fact that they run unadulterated Android OS and benefit from timely updates straight from Google. And the Nexus 7 at the time I bought it was about half the price of a comparable (32 gig) iPad Mini. The camera on my tablet is a very low priority since my phone fills that need quite nicely. SD storage is also irrelevant since I can store files in the cloud or at home on my NAS drives. HDMI also irrelevant since I have an app that gives the Nexus an airplay-like capability for watching videos on the TV.
Have fun with the crappy and laggy OS on those tablets. You'd think with the specs some android devices have these days they wouldn't be laggy and unstable as they are. And all those specs mean nothing If you don't have the quality and quantity of apps like the iPad has.
I'm not sure if your comment was meant to be sarcastic or not. I'll assume not. The iphone is a lot smaller and it manages to have retina display. It would have been perfectly reasonable to have had a retina Mini.
