Warning: Jailbreakers Should Not Update to iOS 6.1.3

Warning: Jailbreakers Should Not Update to iOS 6.1.3

Posted March 19, 2013 at 5:01pm by iClarified
Jailbreakers should not update to iOS 6.1.3 as it will likely remove the ability to jailbreak.

Last month, planetbeing (David Wang) revealed that iOS 6.1.3 beta 2 patched at least one of the five bugs used to jailbreak. Specifically, the flaw in the operating system's time zone settings is no longer there.

It's very likely that Apple includes at least this patch if not others in the public release of iOS 6.1.3. We'll let you know as soon as we have confirmation from the Evad3rs; however, at this time you should not update.

It may also be prudent to save your SHSH blobs if you haven't already. Instructions can be found here: Mac, Windows.

If apple is still signing that firmware then yes! You can download the custom firmware from this site and do a custom restore with that firmware.

Please elaborate? I found online that you can use redsnow to jailbreak 6.1.3 by downloading 6.0.1 and pointing redsnow at 6.0.1 via extras menu. HOWEVER, downloading it from iclarified seems to have an issue. I am in the process of downloading 6.0.1 from another source to see if this fixes my error message. The error that I get from the iclarified 6.0.1 when trying to point at it is: That IPSW is not supported by this version of redsn0w. Fingerprint: and a long series of characters.. Upon attempting to do restore button it tells me: Unable to parse IPSW: Are you sure it's really an IPSW? I had read on a forum for someone else in a different version and phone that was having the same issue to try downloading the ipsw from another source. He did so and his issue was resolved. Thus, I am trying this for myself and will report back upon completion of my attempts.
