@ramen this update us for phones that are on T-mobile's network. Being that u have a CDMA iPhone u are not on T-mobile's network cause T-mobile is a GSM network.

@ramen are u using a tmobile sim ??? And also u stated the phone is jailbroken , is it factory unlocked???

You are using a Gevey SIM or other SIM interposer to get service. It's tricking the phone it's roaming from the Netherlands. Basically, you phone thinks its on Vodafones network and you can never get the update with that phone.

I also have been waiting since Friday and still have not gotten the Carrier Update. I contactd T-Mobile and wa told by someone in Tech Support that they did not have a Carrier update for the iPhone5, and that I would have to contact Apple about the update. Which I did and they also told me preaty much the same thing 6.1.3 is the only update that Apple has released. So I am almost ready to give up on this post as a Hoaks.....

A carrier update is expected as it is the norm when ever a new carrier (or change) is made. So in order for T-Mobile US to properly work with the iPhone as it does with other carriers, the carrier update is required. It is possible it will not appear till the 12th. We currently use a custom designed carrier file (ipcc) however this requires jailbreaking. An ipcc file adds carrier options to the settings menu, like checking your account usage, etc. It also correctly sets data, mms, and so forth.

I stand to be corrected, ten Minutes after I posted my statement I received a push notification about the update. However, I contacted both tmobile and Apple care about the update and was told by both that there was no such thing. I am not asheamed to admit when I am wrong which in this case I was. But, if you are a customer/Tech service rep you should be up todate on all your company has to ofer and not put out poop to the general pubic.

Hi, I have an iPhone 4S AT&T unlocked and the data with tmobile only works on edge, is there any way that the 4g or 3G data would work on this iPhone 4S?
Kaiya
Kaiya - April 7, 2013 at 7:07am
Was it unlocked by tmobile, r-sim or via jailbreak?

To enable 3G data speeds, go to Settings>General>Cellular Data>Enable 3G as well as Data Roaming ON. Here are the rest of the settings: APN: epc.tmobile.com MMSC: mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080 MMS Max Message Size: 1048576

Actually their paying $70 less than retail, I hate contracts anyway, being stuck with a carrier for two years really sucks. Your still paying retail for your phone with a contract btw, thats why phone bills are higher because it covers the cost of the phone
m_thoroughbred
m_thoroughbred - April 7, 2013 at 4:31pm
But that's the same as getting the iPhone on contract with other carriers. Loose it and you have to pay full price for another. Cancel contract and you have to pay the early termination fee. The thing about t-mobile is that even though you're making payments on the phone you can cancel your plan at any time and they will still unlock your iphone even even if you're still making your monthly payments.

This update can be installed by downloading it as long as you are on a tmobile network from tmobile.com/isetup. It will NOT update your iOS version. This carrier update also works on jailbroken devices.
