Google has reportedly won a bidding war with Apple to acquire Wavii, a natural language processing startup, according to TechCrunch. The deal is said to be worth over $30 million.

Both Apple and Google were competing for the Seattle-based startup, and Google eventually won. Apple wanted the company, which developed its own aggregation technology and natural summarization algorithms, for its Siri division. The 25-person-strong team, including founder Adrian Aoun, will be moving down from Seattle to join Google’s Knowledge Graph division.

Wavii automatically creates status updates about technology, politicians, celebs, and everything else, turning the world's events into conversation starters you can discuss with friends.

Features:
● Quick status updates for any topic – Follow the latest news on Wavii just like you follow friends on Facebook
● Personalize your newsfeed – Follow topics and get updates for the things you care about
● Have fun with friends – Share your comments and reactions to what's happening in the world, and see what friends think too

You can still download Wavii from the App Store for free.

Apple just pulled the app from its App Store in anger that google won the bid. That is certainly a category for a lawsuit from google to apple for unlawful business practices and unfair competition which is a federal crime...
