This is most likely an attempt to grab sales away from the Galaxy S4 that releases towards the end of this month. I would predict that this will go into effect this thursday because of Mother's day right around the corner and Verizon is known for releasing new promos and new phones on thursdays for some reason.

First of all why would verizon want to grab sales against the s4 with a iPhone .. Verizon makes more money of each s4 they sell then each iPhone trust me I worked at Verizon ,also this is actually just a way of selling of the overstocked iPhones cause of the up coming release of a new iPhone .
