Macotakara, the japanese blog, has gotten its hands on an allegedly case for the rumored "low cost" iPhone. MGM Corporation, an Asian casemaker, has created what they believe is a case intended to fit the phone.

The case it self looks fairly similar to the current iPhone 5 and is about 2mm thicker than the current generation. The video demonstration below shows an iPhone 5 is able to fit the case, but you can tell the case was made for another device.

While case designs are either a hit or a miss in terms of predicting Apple's next iPhone, rumors of of a budget iPhone have been floating around for months now. It is rumored the Apple could release a low cost iPhone along side the iPhone 5 sometime in September.

That's just a poor quality iP5 case. Move on.

Step one: "leak a case for a rumored iPhone" Step two: have a ton of inbound links and free advertising. Step three: sell lots of cases for existing iPhones and other products. Step four: if rumor turns out to be true, get the specs the same day as everyone else and ship any pre-orders you may get. Step five: while laughing on your way to the bank, send all the sites that promoted you a thank you card.

There will never be a cheaper iphone because they already exist. It's call the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. In theory apple would have to make a device superior to the previous generation at the same price point or cheaper to sell any. Why would anyone buy a cheaper iPhone that was less powerful than the previous generation? There just isn't a market.
