SENSE+ is an iPhone Dock That Comes With a Built-In Smoke Detector

SENSE+ is an iPhone dock that comes with a built in smoke and carbon monoxide detector.

The SENSE+ accessory for the iPhone comes with a built in lightening port to fit with your iPhone or iPad mini. In addition, most smartphones can still be used with its universal USB port in the back of the dock. The dock supports both direct power or battery and can even user the smartphone's battery if needed.

More importantly, the dock "talks" to an App on the phone which offers a wide variety of options and protections if a sensor is ever triggered.

Traditional ionization ceiling mounted smoke alarms work well for fast fires but can take around 20 minutes or more to detect this cool smoke by which time you may not wake up.This is where Sense+ technology could save you and house hold members. The Sense+ is the first ever portable smart device docking station and charger with built in Photo Electric smoke and gas detection sensors.

Once the sensors are triggered for either gas or smoke, the iPhone will launch the app and alert you. If there is no response, the app will then auto dial numbers listed in your call group. You can select to auto-dial emergency services as well.

The team was inspired to create this device after seeing reports in the media of deaths due to faulty smoke/gas detectors. Their goal is to raise $150,000 in order to get these out on the market by November 2013. To help fund their project, check out the link below. You can pay $59 for just the dock (no sensors), and $79 for the dock with the sensors built in.

brilliant, this will save us money from buying a smoke alarm and it won't be as loud to blow out the speakers!

Brilliant, smoke tends to come down from the ceiling! if you rely on this you are already on your way to being dead....... Do yourself a favour, use the iPhone how it was intended and buy a separate Fire Service approved smoke alarm

Don't you wish these Docks would fit iPhones with Covers on them? I Don't have the time to remove my iPhone cover each time I want to charge my iPhone. How about different bottoms for iPhones with cases.

GREAT!! The last thing I need is my phone alarm blaring every time I take a bong hit. That'll wake my kid up and get me in trouble with the little lady.
