Lawyer Sues Apple for Selling Devices That Display Pornography

Posted July 13, 2013 at 1:02am by iClarified
Chris Sevier, an attorney in Nashville, is suing Apple for selling devices that gave him easy access to porn, resulting in an addiction that ruined his marriage.

According to Above the Law, Sevier filed a 50-page complaint filed in federal court last month seeking damages and injunctive relief against Apple for making devices that can display porn.

The Plaintiff is a victim of Apple’s product that was sold to him without any warning of the damage the pornography causes. “But for” the Plaintiff’s use of the Apple product, the quality of the Plaintiff’s life would have been much better and injury would have been avoided. The Plaintiff sustained these unwarranted damages in the course of using Apple’s product as designed. Apple’s product was not adequately equipped with safety features that would have otherwise blocked unwarranted intrusions of pornographic content that systematically poisoned his life.

Sevier claims that his addiction to pornography started after he accidentally mistyped facebook.com into a browser. Amazingly, his complaint alleges “Unfair Competition” between hot porn actresses and his wife.

UNFAIR COMPETITION AND INTERFERENCE OF THE MARITAL CONTRACT: The Plaintiff became totally out of synch in his romantic relationship with his wife, which was a consequence of his use of his Apple product. The Plaintiff began desiring, younger more beautiful girls featured in porn videos than his wife, who was no longer 21. His failed marriage caused the Plaintiff to experience emotional distress to the point of hospitalization. The Plaintiff could no longer tell the difference between internet pornography and tangible intercourse due to the content he accessed through the Apple products, which failed to provide him with warnings of the dangers of online pornography whatsoever.

In addition to damages, Sevier wants Apple to sell all its products with a filter that blocks pornography. If a buyer is over 18 and wants to unlock the device, he wants them to sign a contract with Apple acknowledging the ills of pornography before receiving a code to remove the filter.

Ok so yea, who really believes that one time was the first time he has ever seen porn? Bet he was watching it long before the iPhone even existed.

I was not being clear enough - Leasure Sue-it Larry. And naturally there's no Dell device in my care. I'll try keeping my comments boring and negative too.

So, you're telling me he opened his browser and tried to type in Facebook.com instead of just opening his facebook app? BS!

The bigger irony is that Apple has done and continue to do its very BEST to ERADICATE as many of "those objectionable" apps as they can in their AppStore. This, of course, makes Freedom of Speech "enthusiasts" equally as angry at the other side of this particular spectrum.

Didn't apple's former ceo keep boasting that android devices are for porn?

Then that means apple devices are not.

False advertising!

Did they hink this through, the lawyers? maybe a married couple are in different places and can't see eachother for a while then this would be their solution, think of the big bang theory episode about leonard and raj's sister moment.

This is a gimmick , the lawyer was hired by Apple as a ruse , so they can have the option to lock your devices that YOU paid for with your hard earned money. So basically they want more control from your device that YOU own.... And they used their own lawyer to deceive you with this utterly boldface lawsuit lie....

This is not a gimmick this dude is for real! Like him up and you will see. He owns his own record company called Secere Records and signed one of my buddies a few years back. I've met him once or twice and he was strange every time I saw him. He was also trying to see John Rich and had stalked his family meme era recently and they had to put a restraining order against him.
Same guy?

I wonder if this is the same Nashville attorney that sued and mist recently had been arrested for allegedly stalking John Rich and his family. Same name and age at least. Maybe he will sue me for making this comment?!?!

As insane as this legal complaint is, I cannot help but stop to think that there will be a judge greedy enough to grant this litigation to move forward hoping Apple would be willing to pay a payola to him to eventually rule against the complain. American legal system is very corrupt.

So, we shall now put a warning in apple devices that says: CAUTION: THIS MAY CAUSE EXTREME MASTURBATION MARATHONS. *sarcasm*

True story: I recently bought a pack of frozen manila clams in the shell. On the pack it said "do not eat shells". Really?!? Shouldn't we all just agree that if someone eats the shells and dies, it's Darwinism in action and the human gene pool just got cleansed a bit?
