For the first time ever, Apple was EA's biggest retail partner, the company reported in its quarterly earnings. EA earned more revenue through Apple than any other single partner. The company racked in $90 million from smartphones and tablets, but did not say how much of that was exclusive to iOS.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out had its biggest quarter yet and made more money in the past three quarters than any other previous quarters. Other games like Real Racing 3 were also revenue generators for the company. The racing game reached 45 million downloads and averages 2 million daily users.

Digital revenue for the company was $378 million, meaning less than a quarter of EA's $495 million total revenue came from traditional sales.

“Our quarter was notable was for its strong digital sales,” EA chief operating officer Peter Moore reported. “To that end, Apple was EA’s biggest retail partner as measured by sales. That is a first.”
