First Liver Surgery Using an iPad in Germany [Photos]

Check out these photos of a liver surgery in Germany which used an iPad to access and visualize planning data. An augmented reality app was used by doctors during surgery to overlay the liver with virtual 3D models reconstructed from the real organ, according to Reuters.

Developed by Fraunhofer MEVIS in Bremen, this procedure helps locate critical structures such as tumors and vessels and is expected to improve the quality of transferring pre operational resection plans into actual surgery.

I wonder why Microsoft doesn't have the same news I forget, they may need an IT College Grad to keep the Windows crap working during the middle of the operation. Hey maybe Microsoft should do a commercial with their tablet doing multiple things during an operation like their college commercial except the patients dies when their device goes down which if all my Apple Products together have gone down twice since 2008 it would be a bit over an over reach cause I only recall any of my stuff going down once. Why? Because the darn Windows Boot Camp Partition acted up. Go Apple stick it too Microsoft, I am just afraid of Apple going to commercial cause when things just work people like myself will be out of jobs.
