Apple has introduced a new 2 meter (~6.5ft) Lightning to USB Cable, which is twice the length of the previous 1 meter (~3.2ft) Lightning to USB Cable.

The cable will ship within 24 hours, or you can pick them up at Apple Retail Stores starting Thursday, September 12.

This 2-meter USB 2.0 cable connects your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with Lightning connector to your computer's USB port for syncing and charging or to the Apple USB Power Adapter for convenient charging from a wall outlet.

The 1 meter cable is still in the lineup at $19, and the longer 2 meter cable is priced at $29.

These cables are made cheap and should have some kind of warranty !

All Apple accessories all come with a 1-year limited warranty. Usually Apple will replace any cable that tears, rips and does not work properly.

Does that warranty come seperately or with the boxed iPhone 1 year warranty?

The cable that came with my iphone 5 got weak next to the connector and wouldn't work ! Then I googled and it said apple cables are not covered ! Anyway I'll check into this again in the future because I sold my 5 Thanks !

I just called apple and they said as long as the cable doesn't show physical damage it's covered by the warranty ! I told them it just got weak where you plug it in to the iPhone and doesn't work ! Thanks !
