The only reason I stay with iOS 7 is because of the awesome new features... to be honest I detest the new look... especially in the CALCULATOR!!

I was actually planning apple to make a switch to make the looks change while running iOS 7, integrate ios 6 icons, keyboard, Siri (look and voice), web, etc. onto iOS 7 so we can switch between ios 6/7 style while running it in many new and old combinations, unfotunantely I don't know how to make it an ios 7 concept to rumor Apple.

Looks like a dummied down skip ship version, much less sophisticated. The weather page looks like USA today, which I dumped too. Microsoft set the standard for versions to skip, why else have so many people kept XP. I'll keep IOS6 for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, Thank God I looked at the comparison first! I will never go to IOS7! It is like going backwards. Theres no romance or familiarity in any application. The old IOS6 is intuitive and has much more style than this new cheap replacement. Calculator has keys removed. The whole IOS7 should be scrapped. I can't believe I am thinking about going to an Android phone. Bad move Apple!

If you want to blame anyone blame the rumors, they bought up "same old style, Aople we need new" but you would switch to a android phone over ios 7 just because of the way it looks, my Idea was to update it to switch between old/new look while running ios 7 like a switch so we can have ios 7 the way we want, like old icons with everything's else looking different for example, choosing between many looks and combinations of some old and some new styles however we choose. If you can make it a rumor and spread!

The problem, Mike, with not upgrading is at least for me I think we'll be left in the dust as more aps and more whatever will we carried forward and the old stuff won't work or be supported any more. I liked the next poster's idea of letting us have choices as to what look we'd like to have. I think that is what she meant, but apparently that was not an options. Or for some of us it would be nice not to have a radical upgrade but one in spurts so as we get used to one idea we can grasp the next, but perhaps that is too complicated.

WEather, World Clock, Newstand, Notes, Reminders, Calculator, Phone Keypad, all BORING and FADED OUT looking. Much prefer 6 for Safari; same for Stocks, Settings.

Looking at the side by side comparisons, there a some nice improvements in looks for system 7, but as I scrolled down it got more and more generic and I am very disappointed. I did upgrade and still wonder if I should go back to the previous system. I hesitate only bc in the future the older system will not be supported fully. I like colors and I love realism. The notepad for one looked like yellow lined note pad. Now it looks like nothing. The ibook bookshelf was neat with the books on the shelf. Now it is nothing remarkable. I had no idea how to delete text messages until my windows saavy son showed me and I heard from onlines user group members. Why does Apple have to copy the Android model. The others were looking to Apple originally for their innovative designs I thought. My husband likes the new generic look as does other male family members. So you see the pattern! I hope the developers will look at some of these comments and make more retro-positive changes to the software. Some posters here discount looks..(and more than one used inappropriate language to boot) ... but how the system works AND how it looks are important to me and if I wanted an Android I would have bought an Android. I buy Apple b/c it is "different" but slowly it is melding into the common place. The artwork did make it different. And looking at the Samsumg Galaxy when I was buying the 5s for my son at Radio Shack yesterday, I still am yearning for a larger screen but I can live with what I have I just want a newer look.

Ios 7 is flat with high quality color and androids is barely dimensional and Whiney with few color texture, technically not a copy!

I don't like the look of IOS7, it would be nice for apple to add a switch to change the layout back to IOS6 look, just like Microsoft call this classic mode in windows.

I like iOS 7. I think it looks a lot better that iOS 6 did, and think that makes my phone work a lot snappier. I have an iPhone 5 S, and absolutely love it, it's the best iPhone yet. My only complaint with the 5S is that it is about a half an inch too tall, I wish it was the size of my 4s. After only using iOS 7 for the last couple of days, I find it painful to have to go back and work on iOS 6.

The iPhone is as tall as any other phone is now compared to the galacrap! Some screens kinda match iPhone 5(s/c)'s screen!

itasara - September 22, 2013 at 4:12pm
I have heard the snappier term used more than once. Again, I see nothing SNAPPIER about this. It is changed. The Weather is the nicest change and as I have already said, most of the changes are way too generic looking and for those of us who never had anything but an Apple, the IBM influence and how to operate some of the apps was a mistery to me and the phone did not come with obvious instructions. Another example. the old camera had a slider at the bottom from camera to video mode. The new one has three colored circles in that spot. HUH? How clear is that in comparison? It is not snappy just juvenile. Again the notepad is not snappy either, just generic. After showing the comparisons to my husband even he does not want to upgrade even though a couple of the generic looks he liked... like the calander which was not a huge change but sill to me not good to look at or read.

It plain sucks. You have to try to figure it out rather than just use it. New is, in this case, definitely NOT BETTER!

It doesn't ALL suck but I spent so much more time than I needed to just figuring it out or asking to get instructions. the generic icons and app designs-yes, those suck.

My idea was to make a rumor for apple to implement a switch for switching to ios 6 style between 7 while running it on ios 7 or use ios 6 icons with ios 7 control center (combinations for old/new style).
Tom

iOS 7 seems loosing some meaning. I mean it looks too flat, takes more time to figure out what the icons means. Skeuomorphism might be old concept, but this flat design is a back step in understandability. Jony went too far.
gamerscul9870
gamerscul9870 - September 20, 2013 at 9:56pm
He didn't go too far on design, it's not like he had a choice he worked hard on ios 6 icons but for people who wanted newer design, apple did this for them, blame rumors for NEW design! Hopefully though apple will add the old icons and everything from ios 6 onto ios 7 so we can enjoy ios the way we want it to like what we think is best for it!
gamerscul9870
gamerscul9870 - September 20, 2013 at 8:12pm
Everyone, I know an idea to improve ios 7, we need apple to make a switch for flat design turning it on and off which for example would include ios 6 icons, web, control center (except scroll from the bottom this time) and everything else. Like this we will use it to have ios 7 our own way, either flat or dimensional. Who's with me to make a rumor on this?

Ios 7 is better than ios 6 in some aspects but Ios 7 needs some improvement Example - In settings there should be a option of lock screen in which user has to select he or she wants lock slider or not . Pattern lock should also be there with passcode there .

Its the wanna be android in them... each app layout you see has been taken from android. Your new notification center... android... music player... android... everything.. android... apple has disappointed me since the fall of steve jobs.. and all you people who still follow this trend need to go out and get an android device n live happily ever after....

Ok, so the questions is "how will they improve from that?". Will quess is that they will be start adding details since you really cannot go to other direction. Thatwill lead back to right track = getting iOS to look advanced, back to square one.
