OpenEmu 1.0 Brings Popular Video Game Emulators to Mac OS X

OpenEmu 1.0 Brings Popular Video Game Emulators to Mac OS X

Posted December 24, 2013 at 5:14am by iClarified
OpenEmu, an open source project to bring video game emulation to OS X, has just launched OpenEmu 1.0.

For the first time, the 'It just works' philosophy now extends to open source video game emulation on the Mac. With OpenEmu, it is extremely easy to add, browse, organize and with a compatible gamepad, play those favorite games (ROMs) you already own.

Consoles Supported Include:
● Game Boy
● Game Boy Advance
● Game Gear
● NeoGeo Pocket
● Nintendo (NES)
● Nintendo DS
● Sega 32X
● Sega Genesis
● Sega Master System
● Super Nintendo (SNES)
● TurboGrafx-16
● Virtual Boy

"Although it is not a requirement, OpenEmu is best used with a peripheral gamepad or controller to interact with your games. Via the Controller Preferences, simply auto- magically assign buttons with any generic HID compliant USB or Bluetooth game controller."

You can download OpenEmu 1.0 for free from the link below...

Just deleted all of my emulators and downloaded this. This app is incredible, and the way it's structured means there is tons of room for expanding (ex. eventually adding in a Dolphin core). Everything works right out of the box, which is unheard of in an emulator.

I don't know about anybody else but if you can't use some kind of controller that's like a Nintendo handheld controller playing this on the keyboard sorry I wouldn't be too good I can't play any games on the keyboard computer games not fun without a joystick on the console man and I will never be a keyboard pc player

Do you know how many different controllers there are that are compatible with computers? Far more than any console...Out of the box the PS3 controller is compatible with any Mac newer than 2006, you do not even have to do anything just sync it via bluetooth and bam you have a PS3 controller for gaming on your mac...Prefer the 360 controller? All you need to do is install a driver that takes all of 10 seconds and bam you have a 360 controller to game on your Mac...never mind the myriad of 3rd party controllers out there available

Wow, did you even read about it for more than 2 seconds? It supports PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers amongst many others.
