Rita Lane, Apple VP of iPad and Mac Operations, has retired, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Lane held her VP position at Apple from 2008 to February 2014. She was reportedly recruited by Tim Cook himself.

Rita Lane was hired by Cook back in 2008 to help oversee the company's supply chain operations for the iPad and Mac, a key position at a company that prides itself on the efficiency of its supply chain. Before this she managed the supply chains for Motorola and IBM. Oh, and did we mention she used to be a captain in the U.S. Air Force?

It's unclear if Lane's position has already been filled or if Apple is looking to hire outside the company.
