Apple's rumored iWatch has been one of the most highly-anticipated products to launch in 2014. Supply chain rumors now point to a third quarter launch for the device, according to a new report from Economic Daily (via MacRumors).
The report cites an alleged bill of materials for the device, and claims that Apple has asked suppliers to deliver the products starting in August, placing the device's launch sometime in Q3.
The iWatch will be manufactured by Quanta Computer, while Taiwan-based chip design house Richtek has also entered the supply chain. The device's touch panel will be supplied by TPK, the paper noted.
The report also claims that Apple is looking to ship 65 million units in 2014, a number which would crush the competition. Apple will reportedly design the processor behind the iWatch, but outosurce production to Samsung.
Recent rumors have pointed toward the iWatch focusing on health-related statistics. iOS 8 will allegedly be shipping with Health Book, which will have the ability to show heart rate, hydration, blood pressure, activity, nutrition, blood sugar, sleep, respiratory rate and more. Many believe Apple will source the data from an iWatch-like device.

what i love the most is how apple and samsung must co exist. apple needs samsung's manufacturing skills. samsung needs apple's orders. making each other money.

Since when did apple need a copycat? All samscum did was rush the watch. They haven't made one yet because they take their time. Especially for features.

The iWatch would be useless without a frontal camera for FaceTime.

I own iPad / iPhone; however, I have NO IDEA why I would need an iWatch. I am looking forward to hearing the arguments.
