Apple appears to have forgotten to renew a SSL certificate leading to issues for users trying to upgrade OS X, reports MacRumors.

Users are presented with the following error when attempting a Software Update:

An Error has occurred
The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "swscan.apple.com" which could put you confidential information at risk.

Swscan.apple.com is a server used by Apple by for Software Update. A certificate lookup indicates that it expired on May 24th at 23:59:59 GMT.

Presumably, the issue should be fixed shortly; however, for now you can manually download updates from the link below...

Is this the same SSL encryption NSA pushed on the world , and then they found out the encryption was sabataged ? Maybe they deliberately decided not to pay for it.

lol. Not true. They didn't forget. It's just that they didn't get much time as they were busy copying other people technology, applying for patent and then sue them in the court. So based on what people saying they forgot ? That's baseless.
