TouchPal Shows Off Third-Party Keyboard for iOS 8 [Video]

Posted June 11, 2014 at 8:22pm by iClarified
iOS 8 is letting developers make their own custom keyboards, allowing for anyone to have any keyboard they wish on their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. We've already seen Fleksy, the popular Android keyboard show off their keyboard running iOS 8, but today TouchPal demoed their third-party keyboard running on iOS 8.

TouchPal is one of the most popular keyboard applications on Android and they are ready to bring the "first keyboard with gesture/sliding input" to iOS 8. It features next word prediction, autocorrect, and much more.

Yep, it’s real. TouchPal Keyboard is the first third-party keyboard on iOS 8 with sliding input, next word prediction and many other exciting features. As one of the most popular keyboard apps on Android (over 150 million users worldwide), TouchPal will now bring the best typing experience to iOS users. We have successfully run our keyboard on iOS 8, espeically with the exciting gesture input. Slide over letters for words, slide up for numbers and slide down for symbols.

TouchPal says they'll have a private beta (invite-only), which you can learn more about at the link below.

Check out the video below to see a demo...

I like how they're letting us get these 3rd party features, but let's all hope it doesn't affect how secure iOS is.

I doubt that can be affected.

Exactly. These pointless jokes people have made of android beating apple just shows their feelings, they're so many images of it because that's all they got.
