Leaked iPhone 6 Battery Specifications Suggest Minimal Improvement to Battery Life?

Posted July 7, 2014 at 4:31pm by iClarified
Battery specifications for the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 have allegedly been leaked by Chinese media sources.

The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is said to feature a 1800 to 1900 mAh battery. This is better than the 1570 mAh battery that comes with the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c; however, the larger 4.7-inch screen will likely require more power and may negate the battery bump.

The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will reportedly feature a 2500 mAh battery. This again seems like a big jump; however, considering the larger display its unclear if users will see significant improvement. Additionally it's noted that the 5.5-inch LG G3 runs off a 3000 mAh battery and the 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 3 runs off a 3200 mAh battery.

Unfortunately, we can't verify these specifications yet; however, you can stay tuned to iClarified by following us on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

Could be that the new processor is more efficient and therefore adds more battery life.

A Galaxy S4 has a 2600 mAh battery... so compared to new Apple models, I have longer battery life AND can swap batteries if I need to (which is not very often)... thankful I didn't waste time waiting for a "larger display" and have enjoyed the S4 for over a year now. Not to mention the external SD card option...

iOS can soon handle swapping data to another device like handoff, but that to can not require an ds card, even iTunes can do it. There is an accessorie for iPhone though but as far as battery goes, mophie solves that, besides you need to make sure your phone is fully charged in the morning or the battery will become an issue for some.

I prefer to have a light weight phone. I wonder how heavy of the phone by putting 6000mAh battery. I guess we will find out the performance in two months.

Nearly the speed of light compared to how fast it shot up the charts and how fast it goes when using it.

Would be awesome to put one of those improved batteries on older iPhones, too bad they probably won't fit.

Battery technology hasn't moved on yet, unfortunately. Having dealt with Lithium batteries over the past 10 years, we will have to wait some time before we see an increase in capacity and a reduction in physical size. Unfortunately newer technology is still a few years away but is being heavily researched as you would expect. The University of Illinois released information over the past year regarding batteries being possibly 2000 times more powerful! At present this is just a concept I personally believe a few years away form being a reality . Apple and other manufacturers can only make their devices more efficient in the meantime. So we're stuck with our phones lasting almost a day for some time yet.

There's geneo, gives your phone battery life as you move with it. This can really improve health.
