French site Nowwhereelse has posted photos of what it claims to be the iPhone 6 Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The part doesn't reveal anything major, and features a similar design to the current Touch ID sensor found in the iPhone 5s.

The only visible difference is the relocation of screw holes that correlate to the iPhone chassis. Earlier we reported that Apple supplier TSMC would be producing fingerprint sensors for all future iOS devices. Another report also claimed the new fingerprint sensors would be much more durable that the current iPhone 5s sensors.

While Apple's Touch ID trademark request was recently rejected, it's no secret that Touch ID is becoming an important part of iPhone and iOS. Apple has introduced the Touch ID API in iOS 8 opening up the door for more possibilities with the sensor. In addition, Apple has been rumored to be working on a mobile payment system that would incorporate Touch ID as a way of authentication.

Apple's iPhone 6 is rumored to launch in two sizes, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch. In addition, the device will feature an all new design, an upgraded processor, an improved camera and more.

I think there's a typo for the "iPhone 5S" fingerprint scanner because it looks nothing like the real iPhone 5S fingerprint scanner.
