Apple is Cutting 40% of Beats’ Workforce, Will Try to Find Them Other Jobs at Apple

Apple is cutting 40% of Beats' global workforce ahead of the acquisition's August 1st closing date, reports the NYP.

The job cuts amount to about 200 positions that will no longer exist once the two companies are fully merged.

“Last week everyone was given an offer from Apple. Some were transitional offers with a set end date,” a source close to the situation said.

Music chiefs Luke Wood and Ian Rogers, as well as creative boss Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails will join Apple. Reznor tweeted on June 2. “ …but YES I am still CCO of Beats Music and looking forward to what lies ahead with Apple.”

Co-owners Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre are already working with Apple.

Beats' spokeswoman declined to comment. Apple spokesman Tom Neumayr said: “We’re excited to have the Beats team join Apple, and we have extended job offers to every Beats employee. Because of some overlap in our operations, some offers are for a limited period and we’ll work hard during this time to find as many of these Beats employees as we can another permanent job within Apple.”

I feel bad for the people losing their jobs! and won't end up getting a permanent at apple, that really sucks... Merges aren't always good for everyone especially the little oh well

Apple makes things simple and maybe the jobs are to, look how easy the team improves from before yearly, but merges on the other hand aren't bad, you make new friends and like this apple has, they helped the fallen.

I think otherwise, Raviz. First, it's clean. Second, your eye is drawn to the center, highlighting the fact that it's an Apple product. Looks like an excellent merge of the two, yet maintains the Beats identity.
