Apple is off to a strong start with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in China, according to local media reports. ITHome and Sina have reported that Chinese retailers have hit 2 million reservations for the new iPhones in the first six hours.

The new iPhones are not available for pre-order until October 10 (through Apple.com) in China, however some retailers in have begun taking reservations for the devices.

The report also notes that the majority of the reservations have been for the 64GB iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, rather than the base models Apple offers. Apple first reported that it had topped 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus sales in the first weekend across 10 launch countries.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus go on sale Friday, October 17 in China for a suggested retail price of 5,288 (RMB) for the 16GB model, 6,088 (RMB) for the 64GB model and, for the first time, a new 128GB model for 6,888 (RMB).
