CNN election commentators were given Microsoft Surface tablets to use but it appears that some of them preferred the iPad.

Observant viewers spotted the commentators hiding their iPads behind the Surface tablets and even using the Surface as an iPad stand!

I'd probably do the same thing. I HATE Windows and would never want to use the Surface.

No offense guys. But I think these people prefer to use the device they are used to using already. An iPad doesn't hold a candle to a Surface. And it's a strong opponent to an Air as well. If you are going to do anything of significance, you're going to want an actual computer and not an iPad.

Totally understand your argument but Windows significantly needs to stabilize their surface before even considering being a forefront of any laptop replacement. I barely get my work done without being frustrated with office 365 with it's assumption that this is what I want. Pretty much ruing a lot of my documents and contacts. Take that as a consideration when you have documents and contacts that you need to maintain. Microsoft needs a lot more testing rather assume what is right for you. That is the biggest difference to what Windows and OSX does for me. Windows assumes and it will make that change, OSX gives you the tools and will give you that option. The clear winner is OSX or the handoff with IOS if you know what you are using it for.

I think it's pretty stable as is. I've only played with a SP3 in stores and was blown away with how it performed. Trash is a monster for that small of a package. That pen input is flat out amazing too. As far as documents and contacts go...that fairly easy to maintain regardless of yoru OS preference. I use Google to manage them and I can import them into any iDevice, Android or Windows phone easily. I use Dropbox for documents makes having everything I need available anywhere if it's on another computer or on my phone. And for third party programs you are almost choking yourself with OSX. Even in undergrad I had to install Windows on several Macs just so those people could get work done. And all of those people refused to use anything but Office on their Mac for spreadsheets, word documents, etc. Most just used Office on the windows side of they computer because of the more favorable interface. That's not my opinion, that's some pretty hard core "I love my Mac" type opinions.

Fair statement, but I work in I.T and we were giving the surface pro. Yeah the first time I used the product I was a tad bit surprise..but then I started to USE the product then I was disappointed.

It's honestly so frickin funny that MS has a commercial Ad campaign touting the Surface over....... The MacBook Air (of all Goliath's to attack ,they chose that) But yet they PAID CNN to use that crap and CNN took the money, turned around and gave it to APPLE.... Fresh New iPad air's and Mini's. Oh man... this is too funny.... #AppleNation

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this last night!!! It was a perfect example of how our system of government works... Present yourself as believing in one position while in public and doing the exact opposite of what you say you believe in when you think no one is looking...

Microsoft doesn't deem to be able to even give them away. How frustrating it must be for them.

I knew it!!!!! I knew it!!!! I always knew that Microsoft would find a use for those 10,000,000 Surfaces that never left the warehouse... Way to go Microsoft, you have a great Motto Now. "If you can't beat em'.... Start making Accessories for em'" Atta Boy #AppleNation
