Apple, Google, Intel, and Adobe Look to Settle Poaching Lawsuit for $415 Million

Apple, Google, Intel and Adobe appear likely to settle a poaching lawsuit brought against the companies for $415 million, reports Reuters.

U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, California, had previously rejected an earlier $324 million deal as too low. During a hearing on Monday, Koh raised no objections about the size of the settlement as she had at an earlier court session.

Koh did not formally rule to approve the deal but she set another hearing date for the final signoff.


"We are pleased court indicated she was going to approve the settlement," Kelly Dermody, an attorney for the workers, said after the hearing.

Filed in 2011, the class action lawsuit accuses the four companies of agreeing not to poach each other's employees, limiting job mobility and salaries.

Koh rejected the first attempt at a settlement which was valued at $324.5 million after a plaintiff objected. That worker is on board with the new deal.
