Here's a look at how the camera on the Samsung Galaxy S6 performs against the iPhone 6.

The iPhone 6 features an 8MP camera with 1.5-micron pixels and f2.2 aperture. The Samsung Galaxy S6 has a 16 megapixel sensor with an f1.9 aperture.

Both CNET and The Verge had the opportunity to test out the devices.

The Verge:
To find out, we put the S6 head to head with the iPhone 6 Plus to see how it fared in a variety of situations. As it turns out, the S6 can hang: it's very close to the iPhone in terms of image quality and detail. The S6 shots are a little warmer, but not offensively so, and the two phones handle low-light a bit differently.

CNET
The Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6 were pretty neck-and-neck. Personally, I'd give the Galaxy S6 the slight edge, since I'm partial to its saturated tones that come off bright without looking too unrealistic (a characteristic that plagued Galaxy cameras before).

surprise surprise an i based website stating that the iPhone is better, what are the odds, so blinkered and lets be honest how do we know that the pictures are correct and the ones they say are s6 are in fact the s6 and not the iPhone, one day there will be a non-biased website

There seems a little bit of "yellowing" in the Samsung pictures....especially noticeable on the food truck picture where the writing shows up white on apple, and a tad yellow on samsung...th car picture in the night seems better on Apple too, Sky in the seagull picture on Apple seems unnaturally blue....otherwise, both seem to take fantastic photos!

The camera on the iPhone 6 is definitely better! However, I still wish Apple would improve the front camera (for the upcoming iPhone 6s/iPhone 7 so we could take better quality selfies! Lol.

according to fandroids that the iPhone has only 8mp camera and they have the most mp. Does mp matters?

No. They take up more memory yet better lens and sensors work the same way without hogging it.

In some areas, white balance looks better on iPhone, but with slightly better light capture, sometimes it's either. Both are great.
